Crust: You can make homemade pizza dough (which doesn’t even need to be kneaded) or use pita, bagels, English muffins, tortillas, or flatbread. Up to you and your preference. Pizza sauce: Jarred, canned, or homemade pizza sauce all work here. You can also trade in pesto if your family enjoys that flavor. Shredded mozzarella cheese: This cheese melts very easily and has the classic pizza flavor. Grated Parmesan: I like to add a little grated Parmesan on top of our pizzas for extra flavor. Pizza toppings: You can add favorite pizza toppings such as pepperoni slices, sliced olives, minced broccoli or peppers, cooked Italian sausage, sliced meatballs, shredded fresh spinach, or thinly sliced salami.

How to Store Pizza
Let cooked pizza cool, and transfer to a storage container. Place wax paper or parchment paper between layers so the pizza doesn’t sit together. You can also store assembled, but uncooked pizzas the same way to bake later. To freeze, let cool and transfer pizza in a single layer to a freezer bag. Remove as much air as possible and seal. This works great for bagel pizzas and pizza rolls as a make-ahead meal. Then simply warm in the microwave or oven. You can also wrap pizza slices in foil.
How to Reheat Pizza
Place leftover pizza on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper and warm through in a 375 degree oven for 4-6 minutes. Or, warm in a toaster oven. Or, warm in 15- to 30-second increments on a heat-safe plate in the microwave. Or, warm in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Best Tips for Success
If using whole wheat pizza dough, plan to make it at least two hours before you want to use it. If using bagels, thaw them first. Use jarred, canned, or homemade pizza sauce. Or, try spinach pesto. Dairy-free: Use a dairy-free mozzarella. Gluten-free: Use a gluten-free base option. Round out the day with Yogurt Waffles, Oatmeal Bars, and Cheesy Rice.
