Oat Flour
It’s so easy and inexpensive to make oat flour at home that I never buy it at the store. And it’s such a great flour to use in baked goods to add fiber, flavor, and whole grains. It’s a staple in my pantry, is super quick to make, and is a good gluten-free flour option if you or someone in your family eats GF. TIP: I use it in baked goods like muffins, bars, and cake, but you can also use oat flour as instant oatmeal. (You may also like How to Cook Quinoa on the Stove or Pumpkin Oatmeal.)

Tips for Making the Best Oat Flour
Store for 1 month in an airtight container at room temperature or up to 1 year in a zip top freezer bag in the freezer. You can use a food processor, though it will not grind into as fine of a texture. To make gluten-free, start with certified gluten-free rolled oats. Use as instant oatmeal for babies or toddlers by mixing with a 2:1 ratio of hot water to oats. Add cinnamon or fruit as desired. Use in recipes like Healthy Breakfast Bars, Vanilla Oat Smash Cake, Blueberry Banana Muffins, and Soft-Baked Granola Bars.
